And when the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: Surely you are an unknown people. 62 They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.” 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." 65 We informed him that the unbelievers would be utterly destroyed. 66 And the people of the town came rejoicing. 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 And fear Allah, and humiliate me not. 69 They replied: "Did we not forbid you again and again to extend hospitality to all and sundry?" 70 He said: These are my daughters, if you will do (aught). 71 Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. 72 But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79
