The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 About the Great News 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 It will be a place of return 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
