[O Men!] Are you more difficult to create than the heaven which He has built, 27 He lifted up its vault, and levelled it, 28 Gave darkness to its night, and brightness to its day; 29 And afterwards spread out the earth. 30 therefrom brought forth its waters and its pastures, 31 and making the mountains firm: 32 all this as provision for you and your cattle. 33 When the great over-whelming event arrives, 34 The day when man will call to mind his (whole) endeavour, 35 And Hell made visible to him who can see, 36 Then as for him who is inordinate, 37 And preferred the life of this world (by following his evil desires and lusts), 38 will find himself in Hell; 39 but one who fears to stand before his Lord and restrained himself from base desires, 40 paradise will truly be the goal! 41 They (the disbelievers) ask you regarding the Last Day, as to when is its appointed time. 42 What art thou about, to mention it? 43 [seeing that] with thy Sustainer alone rests the beginning and the end [of all knowledge] thereof? 44 you are but a warner for those who fear it. 45 On the day when they behold it, it will be as if they had but tarried for an evening or the morn thereof. 46
