The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
