The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And it is no joke. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17

Almighty Allah's Truth.
