The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
