Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 and exalt your Lord, 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 And all defilement shun! 5 do not bestow a favour in the expectation of receiving more in return; 6 but unto thy Sustainer turn in patience. 7 For when the trumpet blows 8 that day will be a harsh day, 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 And give him vast riches, 12 and sons to be by his side, 13 and for whom I have smoothed the way (to power and riches), 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give him even more! 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or to) face a severe torment! 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 This is naught else than speech of mortal man. 25 Him shall I soon roast in Hell. 26 And what have you understood, what hell is! 27 It shall not spare, nor leave. 28 Blackening the skins. 29 Over it are nineteen [powers]. 30 We have not appointed the guards of hell, except angels; and did not keep this number except to test the disbelievers – in order that the People given the Book(s) may be convinced, and to increase the faith of the believers – and so that the People given the Book(s) and the Muslims may not have any doubt – and so that those in whose hearts is a disease and the disbelievers, may say, “What does Allah mean by this amazing example?” This is how Allah sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills; and no one knows the armies of Allah except Him; and this is not but an advice to man. 31
