The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
