Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 They used to hew out houses from the mountains and lived in security. 82 Then the shout took hold of them in the early morn. 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators 90 Who have made the Qur'an into portions. 91 By thy Lord, We will question them all. 92 For all their deeds. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 even against those who set up with God another god. Certainly they will soon know! 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 but extol thou thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise Him, and be of those who prostrate themselves [before Him] in adoration, 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
