The king said: 'I saw in a vision seven fatted cows being devoured by seven lean ones; and seven green ears of corn and seven others withered. My counselors, tell me the meaning of my vision, if you can interpret visions' 43 They said: medleys of dreams! and in the interpretation of dreams we are not skilled. 44 Then said the one who had been delivered, remembering after a time, 'I will myself tell you its interpretation; so send me forth.' 45 (And coming to the prison) he said: "O Joseph the truthful, tell us (the meaning of) seven fat cows being devoured by seven lean ones, and seven green ears of corn and seven seared, that I may go back to the people and tell them." 46 He said, 'You shall sow seven years after your wont; what you have harvested leave in the ear, excepting a little whereof you eat. 47 for, after that [period of seven good years] there will come seven hard [years] which will devour all that you shall have laid up for them, excepting only a little of that which you shall have kept in store. 48 “Then after that will come a year when the people will be given rain and in which they will extract juices.” 49
