Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 storming tempestuously 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 and the severally severing 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a known calculated term. 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
