The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 those who, when they are to receive their due from [other] people, demand that it be given in full 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do such people not realize that they will be raised up, 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 Then they will indeed burn in Hell. 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 A book inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those nearest (to Allah, i.e. the angels). 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 upon couches gazing; 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 A fountain from which only they who are honoured drink. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day, 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
