Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the dawn 1 And by ten nights, 2 by the odd and even (8th and 9th Dhil-hajj) 3 And by the night when it departs. 4 There is indeed in them (the above oaths) sufficient proofs for men of understanding (and that, they should avoid all kinds of sins and disbeliefs, etc.)! 5 Hast thou not seen how thy Lord did with Ad, 6 of the columned (city) of Iram, 7 The like of whom were never created in the realm; 8 (Also consider how He dealt with) the Thamud, who carved their houses out of the rocks in the valley. 9 (Also consider the people of) the Pharaoh who victimized people by placing them on the stake, 10 Who (all) were rebellious (to Allah) in these lands, 11 and caused much corruption in them: 12 Therefore did thy Lord pour on them a scourge of diverse chastisements: 13 Verily thy Lord is in an ambuscade, 14 As for man, when his Lord tests him by exalting him and bestowing His bounties upon him, he says: “My Lord has exalted me.” 15 whereas, whenever He tries him by straitening his means of livelihood, he says, "My Sustainer has disgraced me!" 16 No indeed, but you show no kindness to the orphan, 17 And urge not on the feeding of the poor. 18 and greedily devour the entire inheritance, 19 and you ardently love wealth. 20 Nay! when the earth is made to crumble to pieces, 21 And thy Lord cometh, and His angels, rank upon rank, 22 And Hell is brought near, that day will man remember, but of what avail will then remembering be? 23 He shall say, 'O would that I had forwarded for my life!' 24 None punisheth as He will punish on that day! 25 Nor shall any bind with His bond. 26 [To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul, 27 "Come back thou to thy Lord,- well pleased (thyself), and well-pleasing unto Him! 28 Enter thou among My bondmen! 29 Enter thou My Garden! 30
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
