Forgiver (Ghaafer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Ha Mim. 1 This Book is a revelation from God, the Majestic and All-knowing 2 Forgiver of sin and Acceptor of repentance, severe in chastisement, Lord of Power. There is no god but He; unto Him is the journeying. 3 None but the unbelievers dispute regarding the Signs of Allah. So let not their strutting about in the land delude you. 4 The people of Nuh (Noah) and the confederates after them denied (their Messengers) before these, and every (disbelieving) nation plotted against their Messenger to seize him, and disputed by means of falsehood to refute therewith the truth. So I seized them (with punishment), and how (terrible) was My punishment! 5 And this is how the Word of your Lord has proved true upon the disbelievers that they are people of the hell. 6 Those [angels] who carry the Throne and those around it exalt [Allah] with praise of their Lord and believe in Him and ask forgiveness for those who have believed, [saying], "Our Lord, You have encompassed all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who have repented and followed Your way and protect them from the punishment of Hellfire. 7 Admit them, O Lord, to the garden of Eden which You promised them, and those of their fathers, spouses and progeny who are upright. You are truly all-mighty and all-wise. 8 And protect them from the evil consequences [of their deeds]. And he whom You protect from evil consequences that Day - You will have given him mercy. And that is the great attainment." 9
