So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering 30 From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 Yet these say: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
