By no means shall you attain to righteousness until you spend (benevolently) out of what you love; and whatever thing you spend, Allah surely knows it. 92 ۞ ALL FOOD was lawful unto the children of Israel, save what Israel had made unlawful unto itself [by its sinning] before the Torah was bestowed from on high. Say: "Come forward, then, with the Torah and recite it, if what you say is true!" 93 And whoever shall invent a falsehood after that concerning Allah, such will be wrong-doers. 94 (Muhammad), say, "God has spoken the Truth. Follow the upright tradition of Abraham who was not an idolater." 95 The first House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka: Full of blessing and of guidance for all kinds of beings: 96 Therein are clear signs -- the station of Abraham, and whosoever enters it is in security. It is the duty of all men towards God to come to the House a pilgrim, if he is able to make his way there. As for the unbeliever, God is All-sufficient nor needs any being. 97 Say, "People of the Book, why do you reject God's revelations when God is witness to all that you do?" 98 Ask them, "Why do you create obstacles in the way of God for those who believe in Him, trying to make His way seem crooked when you know that it is straight? God is not unaware of what you do. 99 O ye who believe! If ye obey a party of those who have received the Scripture they will make you disbelievers after your belief. 100 And how could you deny the truth when it is unto you that God's messages are being conveyed, and it is in your midst that His Apostle lives? But he who holds fast unto God has already been guided onto a straight way. 101
