The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
