Lo! the tree of Zaqqum, 43 Is the food of the sinful 44 Like molten copper; it churns in their bellies. 45 as boiling water bubbles. 46 Seize him, then drag him down into the middle of the hell; 47 "Then pour over his head the torment of scalding water." 48 (Saying): Taste! Lo! thou wast forsooth the mighty, the noble! 49 Lo! this is that whereof ye used to doubt. 50 Surely the godfearing shall be in a station secure 51 In the midst of gardens and of springs, 52 They will be dressed in fine silk and embroidery, facing one another (on thrones). 53 Thus shall it be. And We shall pair them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 54 In that [paradise] they shall [rightfully] claim all the fruits [of their past deeds,] resting in security; 55 They taste not death therein, save the first death. And He hath saved them from the doom of hell, 56 A grace from your Lord; this is the great achievement. 57 We have now made it easy on your tongue, in order that they remember. 58 So wait thou [for what the future will bring]: behold, they, too, are waiting. 59
