Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
