And We have not created the heaven and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain in vain. That is the opinion of those who disbelieve. And woe unto those who disbelieve from the Fire. 27 Are We to make those who believe and do good works the same as those who corrupt the earth? Are We to make the righteous as the wicked? 28 (Here is) a Book which We have sent down unto thee, full of blessings, that they may mediate on its Signs, and that men of understanding may receive admonition. 29 And to Dawud (David) We gave Sulaiman (Solomon). How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)! 30 When fast footed steeds were presented to him at evening. 31 Therefore Sulaiman said, “I cherish the love of these horses*, out of remembrance of my Lord”; he then ordered them to be raced until they vanished in a curtain out of sight. (To be used in holy war.) 32 (Then he said): Bring them back to me, and fell to slashing (with his sword their) legs and necks. 33 And assuredly We tried Sulaiman, and set upon his throne a mere body. Thereafter he was penitent. 34 Saying: "O Lord, forgive me, and give me such a dominion as none will merit after me. You are the great bestower." 35 Then We subjected to him the wind: it ran gently by his command withersoever he directed. 36 And [also] the devils [of jinn] - every builder and diver 37 And others bound together in shackles. 38 We told him, "This is Our gift to you so give them away free or keep them as you like". 39 And indeed, for him is nearness to Us and a good place of return. 40
