The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 abasing, exalting, 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 On lined couches, 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 And clustered plantains, 29 and shade extended, 30 and flowing water, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 and made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
