Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ SAY: "I HAVE been informed that a number of jinns had listened; then said: 'We have heard the wondrous Qur'an, 1 Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord: 2 And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 We thought that no man or jinn could ever tell lies about God. 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 Like you, they thought that Allah would never raise the dead. 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 And so we know not whether evil is intended for those in the earth, or whether their Lord intends for them rectitude. 10 And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: 11 We realised that we could not weaken the power of God on earth, nor outpace Him by running away. 12 ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear – neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ 13 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." 14 And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 so as to test them by this means: for he who shall turn away from the remembrance of his Sustainer, him will He cause to undergo suffering most grievous. 17 And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. 18 And when the slave of Allah stood up in prayer to Him, they crowded on him, almost stifling. 19
