1/2 Hizb 33

۞ To Abraham We gave the right guidance and We knew him very well. 51 Behold! he said to his father and his people, "What are these images, to which ye are (so assiduously) devoted?" 52 They said, 'We found our fathers serving them.' 53 He said, "Indeed ye have been in manifest error - ye and your fathers." 54 They exclaimed, "Have you brought the Truth or are you joking?" 55 He said: Nay! your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who brought them into existence, and I am of those who bear witness to this: 56 And, by God, I shall assuredly outwit your idols, after you have gone away turning your backs.' 57 So he broke them to pieces, (all) except the biggest of them, that they might turn to it. 58 They said, 'Who has. done this with our gods? Surely he is one of the evildoers.' 59 Some said, "We heard a young man, called Abraham, talking about them." 60 They said: "Then bring him before the eyes of the people, that they may testify." 61 (On Abraham's arrival) they said: "Abraham, are you he who has done this to our gods?" 62 He answered: "Nay, it was this one, the biggest of them, that did it: but ask them [yourselves] - provided they can speak!" 63 Then they turned to themselves and said: Surely you yourselves are the unjust; 64 But then they relapsed into their former way of thinking and said: "Thou knowest very well that these [idols] cannot speak!" 65 He said, "Then do you worship instead of Allah that which does not benefit you at all or harm you? 66 Woe to you for what you worship instead of God. Have you no understanding?" 67 They said, "Burn him and help your deities, if you are resolved to do something." 68 We said: O fire! be thou cool and peace unto Ibrahim. 69 They wished to entrap him, but We made them greater losers. 70 And We delivered him and Lot to the land which We had blessed for the worlds. 71 And We bestowed upon him ls-haq and Ya qub as a grandson; and each one We made righteous. 72 and made them leaders who would guide [others] in accordance with Our behest: for We inspired them [with a will] to do good works, and to be constant in prayer, and to dispense charity: and Us [alone] did they worship. 73 And to Lot We gave judgement and knowledge, and We saved him from the city that was committing wicked deeds. Indeed, they were a people of evil, defiantly disobedient. 74 And We admitted him into Our mercy. Verily he was of the righteous. 75

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
