The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 then We destroyed the others, 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
