The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
