NAY, but consider the moon! 32 and the night when it retreats 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 except those of the right hand 39 in Gardens they will question 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
