The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
