The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is folded up, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
