۞ By inspiration we told Moses: "Travel by night with my servants; for surely ye shall be pursued." 52 Then Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities (to mobilise troops) 53 [And said], "Indeed, those are but a small band, 54 "And they are raging furiously against us; 55 And lo! we are a ready host. 56 We deprived them (the unbelievers) of gardens, springs, 57 their treasures and their noble dwellings -- 58 Even so. And We caused the Children of Isra'il to inherit them. 59 So the Firaun’s people followed them at sunrise. 60 and as soon as the two hosts came in sight of one another, the followers of Moses exclaimed: "Behold, we shall certainly be overtaken [and defeated]!" 61 Musa said: by no means; verily with me is my Lord; He shall guide me. 62 We commanded Moses: "Smite the sea with your staff." And it parted, and every parting was like a lofty mountain. 63 And We brought the others close to that place. 64 We delivered Moses and every one with him, 65 Then We drowned the others. 66 Verily there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 67 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 68
