The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
