The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
