Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” 34 Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 But they brazenly disobeyed their Lord's command, and then a sudden chastisement overtook them while they looked on. 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
