Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 shall have a rope of palmfiber around her neck! 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
