And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah) (i.e. this Quran and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan - devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him. 36 And most surely they turn them away from the path, and they think that they are guided aright: 37 And when he comes before Us, he shall say: 'Would that there had been between me and you, the distance of the two Easts' Evil is the companion. 38 And since you were unjust, it will not profit you this day that you are sharers in the chastisement. 39 Can you [Prophet] make the deaf hear? Or guide either the blind or those who are in manifest error? 40 Even if We take you away, We shall take vengeance upon them, 41 or show them to you suffering the torment with which We had threatened them. We are certainly dominant over them all. 42 Therefore hold fast to that which has been revealed to you; surely you are on the right path. 43 it is certainly a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be called to account. 44 And ask thou Our apostles whom We sent before thee: appointed We gods, beside the Compassionate, to be worshipped? 45
