Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
