The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
