And verily We sent Moses with Our revelations unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, and he said: I am a messenger of the Lord of the Worlds. 46 But when he showed them Our signs they laughed at them, 47 even though each sign We showed them was greater than the previous one. We afflicted them with torment so that they might return [to the right path]. 48 'Sorcerer' they said, 'pray to your Lord for us in accordance to the covenant He has made with you, and surely we shall be rightly guided' 49 but when We relieved them of the torment, they broke their word. 50 And Fir'awn proclaimed among his people, saying: O my people! is not mine the dominion of Misr and witness yonder rivers flowing underneath me? See ye not? 51 Am I (not) better than him who is contemptible, and cannot even express himself clearly? 52 and why have not armlets of gold been bestowed on him and why is there not a train of angels accompanying him?" 53 Thus he incited his people to levity, and they obeyed him: for, behold, they were people depraved! 54 So when they made Us wrathful, We took revenge from them – We therefore drowned all of them. 55 And We made them a precedent and example to the later generations. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
