Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 His wealth and gains will not exempt him. 2 He will suffer in a blazing fire 3 together with his wife, that carrier of evil tales, 4 A rope made from palm fibre around her neck! 5

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
