The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
