3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
