The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
