The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and brightening morning, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
