Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 separating one from another, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known term? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 The living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
