And Nuh, when he cried aforetime, so We answered him, and delivered him and his followers from the great calamity. 76 And We succoured him against the people who belied Our signs; verily they were a people evil, so we drowned them all. 77 And remember Dawud and Sulaiman, when they were deciding the dispute of a field, when some people’s sheep had strayed into it at night; and We were Present at the time of their deciding. 78 And We made Solomon to understand (the case); and unto each of them We gave judgment and knowledge. And we subdued the hills and the birds to hymn (His) praise along with David. We were the doers (thereof). 79 And We taught him how to make garments [of God-consciousness] for you, [O men,] so that they might fortify you against all that may cause you fear: but are you grateful [for this boon]? 80 And unto Solomon (We subdued) the wind in its raging. It set by his command toward the land which We had blessed. And of everything We are Aware. 81 And of the devils were those who dived for him and did work other than that. And We were of them a guardian. 82 ۞ And Job when he called to his Lord: 'Affliction has befallen me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful' 83 We heard his prayer and relieved his suffering, We restored to him his family, doubling their number as an act of Our grace, and as a reminder for the worshippers. 84 And Ishmael, Idris, Dhul Kifl -- each was of the patient, 85 and We admitted them into Our mercy; they were of the righteous. 86 And ThulNun (Prophet Jonah), he went away in anger thinking We had no power over him. But in the darkness he cried: 'There is no god except You. Exaltations to You! I was among the harmdoers' 87 We heard his cry, and saved him from the anguish. That is how We deliver those who believe. 88 And Zachariah, when he cried unto his Lord: My Lord! Leave me not childless, though Thou art the Best of inheritors. 89 Then We heard his prayer, and bestowed upon him John, and adjusted his wife (to bear a child) for him. Lo! they used to vie one with the other in good deeds, and they cried unto Us in longing and in fear, and were submissive unto Us. 90 Remember the one who guarded her chastity; so We breathed Our Spirit into her, and made her and her son a sign for all people. 91 This community of yours is one community and I am your Lord, so worship Me. 92 But they divided themselves into factions, but to Us they shall all return. 93
