Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
