The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
