Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 to burn therein. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
