The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Who insist on being given full when they take from others, 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 unto a mighty day 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 And how would you know what the Record of the prison-house is? 8 It is a written book. 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 On couches face to face. 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 [for, resting in paradise] on couches, they will look on [and say to themselves]: 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
