The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ NEAR HAS COME the reckoning for men, but they turn away in remissness. 1 Whenever a new advice comes to them from their Lord, they do not listen to it except while playing. 2 their hearts are distracted and forgetful. The wrongdoers confer together secretly, saying, "Is not this man a mortal like you? Will you succumb to magic with your eyes open?" 3 Say: "My Lord knoweth (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth: He is the One that heareth and knoweth (all things)." 4 Aye! they say: a medley of dreams; aye! he hath fabricated it; aye! he is a poet; so let him bring us a sign even as the ancients were sent with. 5 Of the villages We destroyed, there was not one that believed. What, will they not believe? 6 We never sent (anyone) before you except men to whom We revealed to them. 'Ask the people of the Remembrance if you do not know' 7 And We did not create them without bodies so they would not eat food – nor that they abide on earth forever. 8 then We made true the promise We gave them and We delivered them, and whomsoever We would; and We destroyed the prodigal. 9 We have certainly sent down to you a Book in which is your mention. Then will you not reason? 10
