3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
